Visitors will also be able to watch professional sculptor Peter Leadbeater as he begins work on a tree sculpture which he will carve into a tree stump on the edge of the woodland.

1st Brinsley Brownies visited Brinsley Headstocks to help design the sculpture as part of conservation workshops. The carving work has been generously funded by Broxtowe Borough Council’s construction partner United Living.

The event has been organised in partnership with Broxtowe Borough Council, Greenwood Community Forest Team and the Friends of Brinsley Headstocks and is the last in a series of sessions that local brownies and schoolchildren have been involved with over the past few months to help encourage local people to use the woodland.
